Origins and History: 14.6 billion or even 15 billion years ago, the Big Bang happened. The universe simply exploded into existence. However, at the same time that the universe came into being, so did the entity who came to call himself Gohldrohk, the first known Elder Beast. How this happened, nobody knows, not even Gohldrohk. All he knows and remembers from that moment was the sensation of waking up.
The first thing he ever saw was the empty blackness of space, immediately adorned with all manner of light, energy, and raw power. He knew not where he was going as he floated aimlessly in the void, but he knew that he was growing very bored very quickly. In an attempt to stave off the boredom, and thus prevent insanity, Gohldrohk took the energy and power from the initial explosion and used it to create the first stars to ever exist. Not too long after, the first solar systems came into existence, followed by galaxies after that.
Over the next few hundred million years, Gohldrohk went about creating worlds and suns until he'd filled the entire universe with stars and worlds. Then, to sweeten the deal, he filled those worlds with life. Then, a few billion years later, he created the planet that would eventually be called Earth. Sensing how cozy he actually felt while immersed in the flowing, molten rock, Gohldrohk decided this planet would be his home and he would unleash its boundless potential.
However, in a time when the planet was still a vast, smoldering orb of molten rock and metal, other Elder Beasts came, seeking to do battle with Gohldrohk. And so a war was waged between him and his first enemies to ever exist. This went on for close to 500 million years. There were once hundreds of millions of Elder Beasts, but in the war, Gohldrohk wiped nearly all of them from existence. In doing this, Gohldrohk established himself as the mightiest of the Elder Beasts and all others that survived were to bow down to him. All would heed his words and acquiesce to his designs. Peace returned to the universe and Gohldrohk continued in advancing his designs.
He had not forgotten about the planet's boundless potential and so he caused comets covered in ice to start falling from the sky in the hundreds of thousands, causing the ice to melt and become rain, leading to Earth's first oceans ever to exist. These comets carrying the ice also carried the microbes that would lead to the first forms of life to ever exist on Earth. Gohldrohk couldn't wait to see what this batch of molecules would transform into, and so he watched and waited.
He was not disappointed. Though they were too small to be seen by the untrained human eye, Gohldrohk saw the birth of trillions of single-celled organisms floating in the black depths of the oceans. For the next few billion years, he watched the processes by which these tiny single-celled creatures sustained themselves. In all honesty, he was fascinated beyond understanding by the marvels he had created.
For the next few hundred million years, Gohldrohk marveled at the miraculous evolution of the creatures that dominated the planet. The creatures that became the crocodiles and the dinosaurs were to him as humanity was to the Biblical God. He cherished them like any parent cherished their children.
But then tragedy struck. A meteorite six miles wide hit Earth and triggered a chain reaction that killed off nearly all of the Elder Beast Lord's creations. At first glance, he assessed that it was just a freak accident, but then he began to realize that someone had actually sent it barreling into the planet with this exact goal in mind. Knowing a sure-fire method to catch the one responsible for the murder of his creations, Gohldrohk hid himself deep in the oceans, watching and waiting for the usurper to show himself. He didn't have to wait long.
The damn fool showed up once he thought no one else was there. Sure, mammals had already evolved onto the scene, something Gohldrohk didn't mind, but the problem was that he was no longer the one guiding the evolution of any of the creatures of Earth. Of course, while Gohldrohk was still furious, he was also shockingly curious. What would these new mammals evolve into? What he saw was nothing short of amazing. For some time, the Elder Beast Lord had the faintest idea to finally approach the interloper, give him a major tongue lashing for what he did, then see if he could collaborate with him to see what kinds of marvels they could create.
However, that started to sound like the stupidest thing ever....of all time as humanity finally appeared. As far as Gohldrohk was concerned, the humans, though appealing to look at, were unimpressive. They were creative, but foolish and ultimately shortsighted beings. Worse still, over time, Gohldrohk watched in horror and seething hatred as the lust and avarice of humanity grew exponentially. Why had that fool allowed these things to run rampant?!!!!
Finally, Gohldrohk had enough. He exploded from where he'd been hiding for so long and confronted this foolish god. Said god was utterly shocked that he was not the only ruler of the planet. Gohldrohk unleashed a string of unthinkably scathing insults before beating him within inches of his life and locking him up, condemning the usurper to watch as everything he built was slowly torn apart.
