Shirley's transformation was the subtlest. There are several orders of birds, but the differences bet most of them are so vague....

One of my earlier hobbies was trying to draw up classification charts for the phyla, classes, orders, and families of animals. I HAD access to a library book that gave the ones for plants, BUT it is obsolete and no longer published, as research has placed the families intoΒ 4 kingdoms (Monera, Protista, Fungi, and Flora) - and what about viruses ? I know 3 phyla of viruses (animal, plant and bacteria infecting types), and established DOMAINS, a rank above kingdom.
Aside from not being able to find all the keys, I gave up due to radical revisions of just about every phylum. Face it, I WORK in a biology dept., but my interest in updating and correcting my old charts has died out.
