LOL! This is a good pic. Thanks for sharing this artwork.
Plucky: Yeah, but I thought Calamity, Bookworm or Egghead Junior would have gotten cast as the Scarecrow. You know, given the character is a lot smarter than he thinks he is and all that. I mean, I'm grateful I beat all three of them for the role, but still-
Fifi: The casting was the choice of the person who suggested this pic.

Babs- Besides, a Scare-Duck pun was too good to ignore, just like the Scaredy Cat one.

Fifi- And Moi heard Arnold was playing Toto.
Babs- Heh, yeah, but he said he'd rather clean a bathroom with his tongue than playing a 'puny, wimpy doggy' role.

Babs- Still, I hope they stick to the movie and not the original book, because it would have just too many characters.
Plucky- You mean it?
Babs *nods* Yes, the original book has tons of characters; a living dolls town, 2 bear-tiger monsters, a mouse queen, the good witches (because the original book has 2) and their own guards...

Fifi- Oui. Not to mention le giant spider. *cringes*
Babs- Heh, on the bright side, the Scarecrow, Tin Can Man and Lion end up as kings of different parts of Oz.

Plucky: Well, every version has their upsides and downsides, I suppose. Still, the original book DOES sounds more fearsome than the movie.
Babs: No kidding.

Fifi- Oui... in le original book, before le heroes can face le witch, she sends wolves, ravens, killer bees and a bunch of her slaves to attack le heroes... and when le heroes pass over zose dangers, she sends le flying monkeys; in le book, le monkeys rip apart le Scarecrow, and zen drop le Tin Can Man on a cliff. *cringes* Plus le Lion gets caged and le witch wants making him pull her carriage. It's only after Dorothy melts le witch zat le Scarecrow and Tin Can Man get repaired.

Babs- Sorry, Plucky. We only wanted you to realize how much of a book has to be eliminated when it's turned into a movie.

Plucky: Well, you succeeded. In spades.
Mary: Okay, Shirley and I are ready.
Plucky: (gulps) Lt me guss; the Good Witches of the North and South.
Mary: Yeah, but that's the ONLY aspect where the play's writers stuck to the original book.
Plucky: (sighs with relief)

Shirley- Like, right now we have to decide on who will play each witch. I guess I'll be the North one, the witch that gives Dorothy the slippers, and also a kiss-blessing in her forehead; that way, even the Wicked Witch can't hurt her directly. That's the real reason the Wicked Witch doesn't just kill Dorothy to steal the slippers.
Mary- And I'd be the South Witch, the one that appears at the final chapters and actually tells Dorothy how to use the slippers' magic.

Plucky- And why 2 witches instead of one, like in the movie?
Mary- To make more sense; if the first witch actually knew how to use the slippers, she could tell Dorothy on first place without having a girl risking her life. It's more logical that the first witch didn't know.

Babs: Excellent point.
Shirley: Besides, there were like, two evil witches in both the movie and the book, even though one of those witches is, like, totally only in it for a plot-setting cameo. If there's two evil witches, there should be two good ones too to balance things out.

Fifi- Plus, in le original story, each witch rules over a town, and every town has its own color. Le witch Mary is playing, for example, rules over le red town, just like le Wizard, since ruling Emerald City, has a green city.
