I think i know what the gloves are used for, it is used a protection against germs, because what i heard is that Walt Disney was germophobic and had mickey and other characters wear gloves. That is one of the reasons, but the other reason i should not mention here... its pretty disgusting.
Other than that, the girls look great with their clothes swapped.

Mickey Mouse started out with no color, NO gloves ... and a total inksplot ! Also Bugs evolved from a frenetic white rabbit .
Even after he became the Grey One, he was at first irrepressible, attacking without provocation -and causing Elmer Fudd (aka Egghead) to devote his life to hunting that "rascawwy wabbit". Later Bugs'd leave you alone IF you left him alone and in peace !
