I'm definantly not an expert photographer, but I think a lower angle (the photographer being lower to the ground) would add some drama to the picture.. maybe put in a filter (or photoshop ) a darker color like blue or purple would give it an effect, but I've never tried it myself, just imagining it in my mind. ..the background of the piece is boring so add to that by placing in ...well, maybe for this idea, some uniform people representing a group or maybe just people in general the subject is trying to hide from, but watching him/her.
