It has to be about 23 - 24 years since the last time I drew a Transformer. As an original fan, or G1 fan as they call us, I bought the 20th Anniversary DVD of the original Transformers movie (if mother****ers can call Episodes IV, V, VI the "original trilogy" (which I will never say without quotations
) then I can call the animated movie the Original movie 
) when it came out in '06, but it's been about three years since the last time I've seen it. So I was just chilling this morning and decided to watch it.Now I love the live action Transformers movies (and yes Megan Fox has a lot to do with that
Her not being in the third movie actually makes me less eager to see it, but I digress) and I know that seems to be blasphemy among G1 fans, but the Transformers in the Bay flicks are ..... FUCK*** ugly! And not even in that cool Edward James Olmos ugly kinda way 
I'm talking "Dragon Ball Z" ooogly!My favorite part of the original movie is the first 25 minutes are so with the original characters and the attack on Autobot City. Hehehehe, it took Mr. Bay two movies before he was able to do fight scenes cooler than the ones in the animated movie, and he had to kill Optimus to do it
And they totally mined the original movie too. When Optimus does that cool flip over Megatron and Starscream in "Revenge of the Fallen" they got that directly from the animated movie and hand draw Optimus still did it cooler 
Anyway, what was my point?
Oh, yeah. Animated Transformers are still cooler looking than theri CGI stepsisters. As I was watching the movie this morning I remembered awhile back I was searching for TF art on DA and that most of the pics of Arcee were pinups and about half of them were pretty slutty
Back when I watched transformers as a kid I wasn't old enough to appreciate sexy female robots, but then I never did develop a thing for sexy robots (unless you count Rommy from "Andromeda" who was actually a starship but she had an android avatar, but she looked human )Anyway I started to wonder if I could do an Arcee pinup without altering her original design. Okay, I may have given her wider hips, but what do you expect ... it's me

Huh, she kind of looks like a more human looking Evangelion. (Yeah, I know that's a bit ironic considering what Evas actually are, but there you go.)
As for the art itself, it's great as always, and I really can't wait to see it in color . . . in three to five years.
As for the discussion . . . Uh, I've never seen G1, so I really can't comment.

Rodimus isn't that bad, his biggest problem is that he's not Optimus

ahem
1. He got Optimus Killed
2. He nearly got the other Autobots killed pretty much constantly
3. When he became a Prime he turned into a freakin' Race Care front end Caboose ass end. What the hell is that about?
4. He dared to touch the Matrix when it was specifically passed to Ultra Magnus and should've been struck down by the Transformer gods for such blasphemy.
5. Optimus Prime was already established to have battled Megatron with difficulty, when Galvatron came back with a bajillion times more powerful Rodimus transformed and back handed Galvatron into space. What the hell kind of power balance was that again?
6. The motorized motorhome got his ass spanked twice by Optimus Prime and again by Ultra Magnus even after he was empowered of the Matrix.
7. Did I mention the best episode ever was when Prime blew a hole in Rodimus Prime while under the control of the Quintisons? I laughed all the way to school and cheered.
8. Did I also mention the end of the episode when Rodimus had to battle Prime one on one and Prime still whipped his ass? "Stop me Rodimus, or all the Autobots will die!" "I'm trying, believe me I'm TRYING!"
9. And in the very end of that same episode when the Quintessons opened fire on that ship and it stayed on course to destroy them they screamed "No autobot can survive that!" and it cut to a picture of Optimus, half his face gone, an arm blown off, chest leaking wires and electricity and he STILL drove the stake-like spaceship into the heart of the Quintesson attack fleet?
10. When Grimlock got pissy with Rodimus, Rodimus tried to pitifully reason with the unstoppable dinosaur. When Grimlock mouthed off to Optimus, the big red bruiser straight armed Grimlock. The implied statement of "I lead, bitch, back off" need not have been voiced. The truth was plain to all.
