I DON'T KNOW. :s I think they just hate it because it's derpy looking, I guess, like Bidoof. But... I really like dopey, dorky, slow Pokemon. I always liked Bidoof, Slowbro, Wooper, and Quagsire, etc for those reasons. >: Miju is just another adorable little lump.
And I'm thinking it's gonna have some massive awesome hardcore evolution that's gonna make Pokebu and Tsutaaja jealous. B)

Aww he is a cutie, I didn't like the starters at first but I guess they take some getting used to n-n The pig one is cute but I'm imagining his evos to be super ugly, and the grass guy is awesome but, ENOUGH WITH THE REPTILE GRASS STARTERS make a grass bird or something Gamefreak. /rant anyways probably starting with him or the grass one i dunno yet D:

Haha, I have to admit when I first saw the scans I BEGGED for it to be a hoax. After actually looking at their designs though, I'm in love with all of them. All 3 have really neat designs in some way, to me. Tsutaaja being cool and sleek, Pokabu being really cute and happy, and Mijumaru being really slow and dopey looking.
AND YES. Why no mammal grass starters? I was really hoping for a grass/flying. A 4x weakness to ice is a small price to pay for the best type combination. >_>
