Not to be a troll or anything but, this whole arc was just filler and therefore NOT CANON in any way, shape or form.

Actually it was canon: Yukino talks about the Zentopia incident in chapter 282. I'm a NaLu fan an I'm willing take any insult coming from haters in "any way, shape or form"

The difference between canon and filler episodes is that canon episodes are backed up by the manga where filler episodes are not. Just because they refer to it once doesn't make it canon. That time is the only time it is ever mentioned in any way in the manga. This arc was filler because it is not covered in the manga. I have read all of the manga and specials and it is not there. Point out to me what chapters its in (I say chapters because if it was is the manga it should have been at least 20-30 chapters) and I might believe you, until then...

You didn't get it, some canonicals works in at least "One Piece" and now "Fairy Tail" do not necessarily come from the manga.
The "One Piece" Example: Golden Lion Shiki was mentioned only once in the manga, but the movie he appeared in was written by "One Piece" author who said that the movie was canon. In this case the manga (and the writer) cannonized the "filler"
What Mashima did in that chapter was the same but he inverted the order, he made the "filler" immigrate to the manga.
But of course since you probably hate this little NaLu moment, you'll keep trashing an entire arc just because of this single moment

One Piece and Fairy Tail are two different shows by two different authors. Just because something happened in one doesn't mean it will happen in the other.
You also said it was the author who announced the filler was canon. Show me where Mashima has said that this arc is canon and I'll believe you.
Also, It's not that I hate NaLu, I just don't like when people jump to conclusions based on small pieces of circumstantial evidence like most NaLu fans tend to do quite often. There is nothing conclusively proving any pairings in Fairy Tail at this point so any and all parings are just fan opinion, nothing more.
