Where the hell did they get the name Samurai Champloo from anyways? Im totally stumped

I think that "champloo" means some kind of mix. Because of the hip-hop and traditional samurai styles that are mixed in the anime.

-InfinetlyVicious is right. It also refers to Mugen's swordsmanship - or lack there of - it being random and crazy and a mix of things. Unorthodox randomness, so to speak.

Samurai Champloo is really means Samurai Remix. Or at least that's what my cousin says. I think it makes sense.

I was told its a sort of soup with all different left overs mixed together, which is kind of like the characters, all different and thrown together.

Oh i can tell u why they call it samurai champloo.
The word, champloo, comes from the Okinawan word "chanpurΕ«" (as in gΕyΔ chanpurΕ«, the Okinawan stir-fry dish containing bitter melon). ChanpurΕ«, alone, simply means "to mix" or "to hash." Therefore, the title, Samurai Champloo, may be translated to "Samurai Remix" or "Samurai Mashup."
