I love everything about this; the focused light, the shadows, the splashes of vivid colors from the flowers, and the mood of stillness and mystery woven throughout it all. Brilliant work--bravo!

Thanks! There will be more on the way I promise. I have a collage of ghibli background art to study from while I paint. I use a full opacity round brush for the details at the end of the painting i.e. the grass and flowers.

This is hella amazing! The chiaroscuro makes it super-atmospheric and evocative. So good, dude. Β Β

This is likely to be wayyyy out of line to ask, but... I guess I've just got to take a chance!
I'm coming to ask you about maybe using this photo for a chatsite?Β
The chatsite is called Wolfhome, but is part of Chatlands, with is owned by Wunderwood LLC. It is a 2D avatar chat, meaning that you create "poses" to use as your avatar while you mingle with people from around the world. "Poses" being any creature at all, animal or human, in different positions. Laying around, barking, eating soup!^~^ And you just sort of exist. In the background IS a background that is almost always nature themed, and it is made to look like your character is out in the wild, and is often used to roleplay.Β
This may be confusing because I am doing terribly at explaining, but this is what it looks like!Β

The reason I am here is because they allow you to make your own rooms if you have upgraded your account to a certain premium, which I have.Β
The issue being //finding a pretty room.// And I mean... WOW. This is just so gorgeous;~;
But if you are, by chance, okay with it, it is stated that I MUST give you credit in the Terms and Conditions of uploading, it is approved individually by an admin to make sure I have.
Might you give me permission to use this..?

Very evocative, and great use of detail. I really like the wispy leaves falling from the branches in small clumps.

I love the piece! And apologies if I'm wrong but I thought I heard Studio Ghibli was shutting down, or at least was going to be finish with movies.

Thanks! Studio Ghibli isn't shutting down, it is just Hayao Miyazaki, the original director, who is retiring. They will continue to make films as far as I know, but Miyazaki won't be in charge, though he might be on the side lines giving advice to the new director if he doesn't want Studio Ghibli to completely go downhill. A lot of people think it will now that Miyazaki isn't directing. But we'll just have to wait and see.
