So, I like all of the new starters, but especially 'Smugleaf.' People are saying he resembles Treecko, so I decided to make the two together...I don't remember exactly where I got the idea, but for some reason, I've had this idea that 'Smugleaf' would be a pompous ass to every other Pokemon, but in a 'good' way, heh.Originally, I had some Text Planned, but I forgot what I was going to have 'Smugleaf' say, so...You fill in the Blanks...
The Grass they're Standing on is from Diamond & Pearl (I thought they needed some kind of background...), but I made the Pokemon. 'Smugleaf's' colors are from Skiploom & Slowpoke

Smugleaf's official name is now apparently "Snivy", a combination of "snide" and "ivy"... not as awesome as "Smugleaf", but I'll take compromises where I can get them

I think Nintendo should totally name him Smugleaf for the English translation, I think someone should make an online petition for it no joke. Smugleaf with his smug grin is totally the new Trollface.

I so agree with you. I mean people using it as a nick name is fine. I nicknamed my Tsutarja Snaky. I just don't like it when people ignore what it is and swear by the Smugleaf name.

Cyndaquil is where the head came from, Treecko is where the lizard body and grass type came from.

I usually like the fan names people give new Pokemon, but for some reason, I don't like the name Smugleaf. Probably cos I know it's Japanese name so well. Tsutarja. But one fan name I like is Crotchram, for the new white legend (can't remember it's name).

I love all the grass starters and Smugleaf is no exception. I really don't think they look all that similar. They're green, bipedal lizards but I'd say that's where the huge similarities end. And they're both awesome. But that's it. C:
