Light quality is lacking. I see your making attempts with poses, thats cool, but try learning the basics on light & tonal quality. It will a much higher impact on your work.

For what it is worth: I think the photo is nice, but would be better with a less distracting background. It is easy for me to lose focus unless the subject either blends or completely stands out from the surroundings. Have fun!
