Description I found this really hard!! My first attempt at an environment so I kept things simple and just worked on silhouettes and big shapes whilst keeping as much tone and value as I could. I didnt zoom in on this - it looks crap when you zoom in haha!

My jaw dropped when I saw this in a thumbnail with the word "study" under it. The water is.... No adjective I can think of truly sums this up properly.

I'm also a bit partial to this since it looks like home to me!

I reallly like what you did with the water and the reflective lights. Very strong sense of realism

This is where I struggle, environments. Did you use a reference?

yeh I did. My friend has a load of images from her holiday that she gave to me so I can just use them for studies. It is hard though - more just to warm up on the topic... I will do another tomorrow probs .. il take more time with the next one lol.

This one was still really cool, so I am pretty excited to see what you've got in store for us tomorrow.

I think it looks good - the reflections in the water are especially nice.

yeh ... I am working up to it... doing studies for one of the Dave Rapoza livestream challenges so I am focusing on that at the moment - then I will go back to the anatomy stuff. Gonna do an environment and some clothing studies tomorrow... im crap with folds lol

Yeah. Clothes are something else that I have been struggling with that I need to get good at. I'm getting the way of sketching them in, if that makes any sense, but I need to get down to the folds and the fine detail...

So hands, clothes, anatomy, landscapes and scenery - it is at that stage where it all starts to seem a bit much to learn good and I get demoralised. I can do recognisable faces though!

I used to enjoy drawing and painting portraits so I got a lot of practice in at that and at least a bit good at faces. Then I came here and was inspired by all the awesome stuff and digital art. But it is hard for me kinda going back and learning so many things from basics.

You are going about the whole thing in a bit more of a disciplined manner than I am and I find it a bit inspirational which is why I'm paying attention...

Keep up the good work anyway!

haha yeah blame Dave Rapoza for that ... just being more strict so I make sure I do the studies is all lol ..... yeah its weird going back to the fundamentals... especially since digital is the only time I have really worked with colour full stop. I was always an ink/pencil person lol. Rahll has a list of books he recommended and one of them is this colour and lighting book which I am getting in a couple of days be good to learn light properly will help with the forms.
