Description
I had a lot of fun painting this picture. It was not an ACTUAL reference from a game in terms of composition but different elements from mario have been thrown in. We have opened up a new store where my own (and others) artwork is now available for purchase if you're interested! This & more will be coming every week so stay tuned!!

You mentioned a tablet. Do you and most artists use tablet PCs instead of desktops? The thought never occurred in my mind since I've always just been using desktops.

Well a graphics tablet connects to your PC. Its like a virtual sketch pad that plugs in via usb. I use a cintiq myself, but thats just personal preference.

I was just going through my own favorites for the heck of it and I was like...
"Hunger Games, HG, HG, HG...MARIO! YAY!"

Very interesting style ya did this in! I am absolutely diggin the way you did the pirahna plant! I don't know if I spelled Pirahna right but you get the idea. Now the backgrounds! OH MAN! Those backgrounds are excellent! The lighting and shadows are very well done, and the detail is amazing. I have a feeling if Mario saw this version of a pirahna plant, he would crap his pants and run away. I know I would. The thing that caught my eye though were the pipes. I really like how the one on the top has cracks in it and the one on the bottom as vines wrapped around it. It really makes the pirahna plant look intimidating. That, and the saliva on it's mouth makes it look like it's thinking "I'M GOING TO EAT YOU!" Phew...sorry got a little carried away there. Well ya get the idea. This is an awesome piece, so much so that it makes me wanna remake a mario animation I did in April. Excellent job! I am faving this, and I am watching you!

OMG THIS IS EPIC!!!!! i love how detailed this is i love the tubes cause of the shine and what looks like a bit of a crack on the top one the tubes almost look like there made of emerald gems
