The life of a hire gun isn’t a easy one, from soldier to freelancer it is all the same. Earn money, take lives and hope you’re just good enough to retire when it is all over, but to those who been in the game long enough will learn the truth that those who live by the gun will die by it. From rival armies, vindictive crime lords or even government officials looking to send a message. Just because you said you were done doesn’t mean they will let you rest, doesn’t mean they will keep their wrath only to you. Most freelancers will claim to not have any family or friends, many will claim the best they got is their favorite gun. This is often a lie because they know what will happen if someone find outs the truth, just because you’re clad in armor with the best weapons money could buy, doesn’t mean those you truly care for are safe too.

It is far too common for freelancers to return home only to find their house empty with a video drive waiting for them, sometime their ship is hacked just so they can live stream the “event” to those they wish to hurt. The stress and pain is losing a loved one, knowing they got hurt because of you is often enough to drive anyone to madness, it doesn’t help either when you find a holographic image of your lover being used as a advertisement, even when they are gone, your enemies will always find a way to twist that knife just a bit more.
