What program did you use to paint this? do you mind explaining the process?Β
Do you use tablets? GIMP? Brush Packs? etc. I really enjoy learning how others create and Color their work.
I can tell it's most certainly digital coloring more than likely Photoshop.
I look really well done. I saw this over on Twitter. Β so I had to come check out your whole gallery.
Some really nice work you've done.

Of course! I used Photoshop to paint this. Basically, my friend did the line work and wanted me to colour it. So I brought it into Photoshop and created a layer above the image and set it to Multiply. This is so that whatever I paint will be under the lines and in this case, I'm laying down the basic tones and values. Once I'm satisfied with that, I create another layer (Set to Normal) and paint on top of it. Basically I'm painting over the lines to achieve a more realistic look. Then once that is done, I create a layer that is set to Overlay (Colour works too) And basically start layering colours on top of the piece and I add more layers if I feel like I need it. Then once all of that is done, I create a Colour Dodge layer to create the light effects . I do use some custom brushes to create the smokey effects around him which I got fromΒ but I just use the basic hard round brush with opacity settings for painting everything else. Oh and I use a Wacom Intuos Pre (Small)! Hope I helped and thanks for the nice comment!

I use the same techniques usually. I just do all my work with a mouse usually. or a sketch it out all on paper first, scan it all in and then clean it all up and then lay down colors. since I'm pretty much limited to the more primitive ways of doing art. I think it makes my art actually stand out alot more. granted i wish i could afford such tech. lol
As for the brush you use, I was hoping it was posted someplace as a resource lol
but it's fine.
as for Photoshop I'm just limited to Photoshop CS because it's all my comp can run since it's an old 2004 mac.

I can understand. I had to find a job and work before I could buy the tablet. I've only been using it slightly over a year now. You can search for brushes on DA too but you should just stick to using the basic ones first. Custom brushes are meant to add to a picture but it's not for painting everything!
