Artist’s commentary: Now here is the blue Gresley pacific himself, Gordon the Big Engine.
This wasn’t as easy as the others as I made the smokebox, steam exhaust, boiler, firebox and cab bigger, and like Henry, modified the valve gear to look more accurate, as well as giving him axle boxes and making his face thinner.
The face was a challenge to edit on. I struggled to find a picture of the face from the right angle.
Somehow this ended up being the hardest character to restore, but at long last he’s finally finished. Not the best character in this series but I did a good effort.
James will be out in a few days. Thankfully he will be much easier to do.
