Description
Because I'm still at shock that I liked Despicable me as much as I did. I've seen it twice already! I went to see with my sister as she owed me a movie ticket, but I wasn't all that excited, as I was hoping to see some other movies that hadn't unfortunately hit the theaters yet.And you know, I've very picky with digital animated movies, and well, all animations really. I don't even like all the Pixar's flicks. But goddammit, Despicable me got me big time. The characters melted my heart, even my sister laughed as hell (and she's very tough audience) and I loved every bit of it. Though, in the very end, there was just slight dancing on the edge of corny sentimentality which usually spoils every other Hollywood-movie, but luckily they kept it in real enough for me to get over with. And it was cute.
Hihi, I love bad guys <3 Gru is such a lovely little evil genius with three kids and million minions. I decided to draw Edith, since I kinda liked her the best. Even though Agnes really had the best lines (It's so FLUFFY!!).
By the way, I simply cannot understand why in the Finnish dub (which is by the way quite nice, but very uneven, I think they could have done way better Gru) they kept the names of the girls as Margo, Edith and Agnes. They are incredibly hard names to pronounce, if you're used to speak in Finnish. And it's a children's movie! If I had been 10, after the show I wouldn't have remembered names at all. Especially Margo, is sounds more like Finnish boyname Marko.
Anyway. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that when the unavoidable sequel comes out they wont spoil everything they're managed to pull off.

Teehee! I had no idea these names were difficult to pronounce. In Dutch, they're quite easy.
I had the same feeling before seeing this movie, and the same afterwards! I thought 'hell no, not another cliché-filled kids movie about annoying children'! But it was unexpectedly funny and entertaining.
Gru is so cute! I can totally picture him making hand-made clothes for his girls!

Trust me, I cannot even think name as hard to pronounce with Finnish accent like Margo or Agnes.
I feel bit stupid as I normally hate all kinds of cloches, but in Despicable me the characters really stole my heart and I can forgive any little mistakes there were. It entertained me <3

I'll go and jump off the roof if they put some unimaginative love-interest or change him too much of a general good guy.

I'll join you!
But usually sequels aren't that bad. I can't think of a sequel were I really didn't like what they did with the characters (unless I didn't like the first one either) and I am pretty sure that whatever they do it will be well planned. We all have our fantasies right now of what will happen in the future of the Gru family but as soon as we see what will be given we'll take it. And if you're not to fixed on your own idea then it's easy. Or we can just ignore the sequel and stick to our own thoughts... xD
Nothing's wrong though in hoping that they won't go for just what you said, unimaginative love-interest (finding a mum - quest?) or general good guy (what kind of story would that be?). And can I add teen/grown-up Margo, Edith, Agnes becoming super villains, too? ... hm... actually I think I would like to see how Gru get his money problems fixed with the bank... He must have depts... not nice... :/

Oh, I'm not really hard critic for the sequels if I happen to like the first one. I just would like to see them do something else than finding a mommy for the family You know, I think it's now rather edgy and modern as showing that singleparent model can work just as well. But it seems that Illumination knows what they're doing so I'm all positive, I'm sure they won't spoil all the fun.
I haven't though what I really would like to see in the sequel, but maybe it would be fun if the opponent was really a "goodguy" this time, like secret agent in James Bond style^^ Or something.

Right you are.
Yeah... uh, that would be interesting as then good and bad would depend on on which side you are, wouldn't it? Both parties act in believe of being right but ... who actually IS right?
I guess we just have to wait and see.
