Your handle and guard strike an erie resemblance to a knife I just made. I WISH mine was damascus, if only my forge were hot enough

WHAO!!! YOU MADE THAT WITH FOLDING?! DUDE!!! AWSOME!!!!!!! how did you make that patern though? it looks like a cross section of a tree or something.

I make the billet first and make the first weld. then you cut the steel a little over half its thickness and fold it in the opposite direction of the cut. Weld repeat. If you start out with 10 layers and fold it 1 time you get 20 layers. Do it again and you have 40 and so on. The more layers the finer the pattern. To make the artistic pattern you can twist, cut, drill, inlay, use cable, chain saw chain. That's just a few ways. The limit is your imagination. For this knife I cut diagonally then horizontally about 1/8 of an inch on both sides then hammer the cuts flat. Then I etched the blade in ferric chloride. the guard is wrought iron. If you look closely you can see skulls.

im afraid i will never get a chance to this. the only forge i know of nearby is for a historic village, and i can only use it for reinactments. i only can get about 3 hours a week at most. ...*sigh*. it maybe a while before i reach the skill level to do this.

From the appearance of your blade, who cares about rust on the anvil?? Very nice work indeed!

You'e welcome. Quick question: did you use a cap on the crown stag with a full tang, or is that a partial tang? I've never done crown stag, but I have a piece and the urge to try it out.
