Actually she is the older sister of the girl in "The Sleepover", and one of about 8 family portraits I have done so far. I can't believe you missed this one too. Good to hear from you by the way, it has been a while. How have you been?

Well unfortunately I'm not thorough enough with galleries often. It's not unusual for me to see something of someone's and be surprised to find it's been around a while. I expect we're all like that, though, there's so much to see here.
It has been a while. I've been well enough, creative slump notwithstanding, haven't looked sideways at a pencil for a couple months, bit of a danger zone that. And my niece waiting patiently for her baby daughter's portrait. I should sub it out to you.
How about you? Must be burgeoning spring in Alabama, your garden must be thriving.

And thank you for the additional favs. I couldn't help but smile at your choices though. You must have a way of picking the family portraits. So I will go ahead and tell you. Of those you have chosen you have three sisters. "Kayla" is the oldest, followed the the girl in "The Sleepover", and then "Megan". These three have a brother, but I have not done one of him yet. These will passed along to each of them one day. "Max" is another family member; his wife has already received this piece. Other family portraits include "A Child's Wonder", "Flowerfield", "Baby Sarah", and "John". I believe I have another one in there too, I just can't remember (I have others that are not on my page).
I am just about finished with a portrait of a couple, completed one yesterday of a friend's son as a birthday present, and just about to begin my annual portrait of Miss Alabama (none of these are in my gallery). This one has to be finished by the middle of next month, so I am under the gun on that one. Then I leave for a photo assignment in Spain.
Yes the garden is doing well. It is an on-going project. Here in Al we have reached temps in the upper 80s already, and I have had to mow grass three times already.
So, yes, busy, busy, busy.
Everyone may be born, but not everyone really lives! Let us all go out and enjoy life.

Well and I've added another. These appeal to me because
of their soft-edged sweetness and gentleness.
Gosh, you are an icon of busy and productive, it sounds like
every scrap of your time is put to good use.
Except for lawn-mowing, not so sure about that.
Not everyone really lives, to be sure.
It's a skill that takes practice like any other.

My day will start off by getting up early and usually drawing. Then it is off to work and to the gym once I get home. Weekends are for working in the yard and garden and doing stained glass work (again for the garden). Oh, did I mention writing too? I'm thankful that my job is only 3 miles from where I live. I can't understand how people can drive an hour to and from work each day.

Well-spent time, good thing you live in a warm climate,
here you would have to spend weekends shovelling snow
4 months of the year if you wanted to do yard work.
I am lucky enough to be able to walk to work along a
woods trail and with one of my dogs in tow.
Two hours or more commuting might have its appeal for some
and perhaps a necessary evil for others but it does
sound like a particular kind of nightmare.

I lived in up-State NY for about a year. I saw all of the snow I needed to see. Now we may see it for one or two days a year. That is plenty for me. I lived in Hawaii too; now that is a beautiful place. Of course, if you love the snow they do get some on the large mountain on the Big Island. We have already had temps near the 90 degree mark this year.

Well come to think of it, dealing with the snow might be easier than the tornadoes we just went through.

Thanks for thinking of me, and so highly to be along side those others you admire.
You have put forth a lot of effort with all of those great pieces and the effort shows. Thanks again.

Ok, I can see you in the field and the flowers are in bloom. You have on a white spring dress and slowly spinning around. The sun is setting behind you bathing you in a warm glow. You are somewhat pensive and enjoying the moment. Now, take the picture - click.

Must be one of those "colds".
Now when you get better you go take that picture I wrote to you about.

not sure what it started as, but i know i have
a sinus infection and an eye infection currently...
i've tried to take pics, but with my vision's so blurry
it's hard to focus on my subjects... i love to take macro shots
and focus is everything with those pics...
it's depressing not being able to be fully creative... that
and being soo unwell..

We certainly need you well, but let your daughter take the photos of you. It makes taking photo of you much easier.
Yes, macro shots really have to be dead on with the focus.
Take enough cough medicine and that will take care of being creative (ha!).

Thanks. That is actually the first of three portraits for this family (the fourth is still to come). Kayla is the sister to "The Sleepover" and "Megan".

In the original photo Kayla had her Barbie Doll up under her arms. All you could see were the legs of the doll. I thought it best to omit these in the drawing. Thanks for the kind words. I loved your gallery too.

Thanks for the fav selection and the kind words of review. Funny, you are about the third person to comment on my signature. I came up with that one by accident and now use it on photos and pencil drawings.
Have a great day.
