Silly AJ lying is for goods... well not really
was a pleasant surprise to see a glimpse of the past and hear Mac talk a lot.
I have been slacking a little on the episode art because of all the freelance commissions/ projects I am working on. its exciting stuff but very time consuming.
Oh and I saw the leaked finale last week so expect to see my episode art of that very soon

I watched a live stream of this episode and (looking at other people's comments during the commercial breaks) I was surprised by the amount of hate this episode seemed to generate. I don't know why so many fans are almost determined to undermine Applejack at every chance they can get.
They didn't seem to be able to process that fact that this story was/happened before she achieved her status as the "Element of Honesty"! Something like this was bound to happen sooner or later! It gave us a look into Applejack's character (who she used to be) and how she came to value honesty, and yes, Mac got a very prominent role (as well as showed us why he doesn't talk so much now), and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The reactions were mostly positive over at FiMfiction.net. I think the main criticism among the bronies I talked to is that the flashback didn't mention either the parents or Apple Bloom and so it screws with the family timeline. But that didn't ruin the episode for me personally.

I think the fans was hoping to see what Applejack and Big Mac's parents look like, but unfortunately we didn't see their parents in the flashback.

all fandoms are HYPER-critical. Because they ARE fans. Hardcore fans are often obsessed by details and the reasons why they loved a show first. For a fandom, every deviation, every change, every mistakes are clearly the signs of the beginning of the End. The End of the show, because yes, all Fans are living in terror to see their passion ending.
Seriously : it's very common to see hyper-critical fans in EVERY fandom (whatever fandom : warcraft, wargames, sonic, sitcoms, stamps, magic cards, pokemons, anything) . It's a fandom.
Don't take too much seriously a fandom. Love it for the fun, let the drama to the door.

I agree as this episode did a good job showing what's she is like before. I feel most people just really hate how applejack is portray but in this case, guys it's a flash back so lighten up.
