Description
The bathroom went quiet. No more bumps or clacks, just... silent. I was terrified of the effect my words might've had on Virgil. I was scared, I didn't want to hurt him. But Virgil, along with his insecurities, didn't know that. After a long moment of hesitation, I willed myself to knock, but before my hand could make any physical contact with the door, it swung open and Virgil rushed past me. He was looking down and his bangs were covering his face, but I could tell he was crying. I didn't care about my morning routine anymore and hurried after him. "V-Virgil, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it, I-"

He turned back at me, his eyes were washed by tears and he seemed so, so hurt. "Then WHAT did you mean, Roman?!" His voice was breaking, and he was clearly holding back sobs as he uttered those words. But I couldn't move. I was frozen in place and my pride stopped me from saying anything as soon as I was facing him head on. He just chuckled bitterly, but he was also sobbing, so it came out as a mix of both. He turned back and continued his way back to his room, slamming the door after him.
