Description Artists note: Well this should have been done a while ago, as it happens right after Pula. But hey, atleast its uploaded before the Dresden deadline so thats atleast something xD

Story:

Drum landed heavily in the sand after the last jump. Rebecca barely dared to look up at the scoring board. She counted the strides, 1… 2… 3… 4… Trot… She had a bad feeling in her stomach, the round had not been their best. She finally dared to look up at the big screen, just for a moment, that’s all she needed to get the information she wanted. The time wasn’t bad, not at all. Going in she had felt him being slow and heavy so she had pushed him extra hard, and they had suffered for that with 12 penalties. If she had only let him do it in his own pace, they might have finished slower but without any penalties.

She trotted out of the arena and was met by her stablehand. “Should I get him hosed down?” she asked. Rebecca just shook her head. “No… Lets just take his saddle off, I want to take him to the beach to walk him” she let the stablehand take the reins as she slid down from his back.

“But don’t you want to stay and watch the others, see what placing you get?” The stablehand looked questioning at her. Rebecca always was the one to stick around and watch the rest of the entrants ride.

“No… You can watch, let me know at the end where we place” Disappointment was clear in her voice. Just under half of the entrants still had to ride, but her current placing could only get worse, and she had a bad feeling she was not going to get to keep it.

*

She heard the cheers from the audience getting louder as the last entrants passed the finish line and the winners were clear. She wondered who had won. She felt bad not being there to watch and support Adam when he rode, perhaps he had done better than her.

She was about to ride back up when two other riders came towards her on the beach. As they got closer she could see the large grins on their faces. She guessed they did well. She lifted her arm in a gesture to them. “Is congratulations in order?” she asked once they were within hearing distance.

“You could just about say that” the one she recognized as James Crosby replied, trotting his grey gelding up beside her. Daniel Williams who followed closely on his stallion just gave her a smile and a nod.

She was tempted to ask them if they saw what placing she, or any of the other Dragons got, but decided against it. No point bringing up her failure, and she would get to know soon enough when she went back to the trailer.

You can really see the characters' moods in their poses, Daniel and James have upright posture with alert horses and seem energetic, and Drum just bleeeh with his unbuckled bridle and Rebecca a bit more slumped... great work. And a lovely sunset <3
