Assignment One

The start
Only a few weeks before departure, Zoey got an urgent call to return to her job in Berlin. Alva was of course disappointed Zoey wouldn’t join her to Russia, and a part of her was anxious too. Now she would need to go there all alone, without anyone to support herself on. But she had her horses.
And the day finally arrived. The horses had managed the journey just fine, and they seemed eager to start. It was almost like they knew what was going on, they had after all entered the event several times before.

Even though Alva was a veteran in the game, she hadn’t entered alone before, and it left her with an empty and confused feeling. She saw people riding off, some alone, and some in groups. It wasn’t until she saw a group following Vidar and Helena that she felt somewhat relieved. She could just follow them.

For the rest of that day she just tried to enjoy the beautiful scenery, and think about what an amazing adventure that lay ahead.
