Story:
Zoe was getting sick and tired at this point. Everything felt clammy and muddy, and she couldn’t wait to reach the checkpoint for the night. A long shower and bed sounded so wonderful. Her horse didn’t seem to happy about the situation either. Loke, one of the mountainsers she had leased from Nattvik, was a good horse, and he had entered the same phase the year before, but right now he was dragging his feet through the mud in a slow pace, clearly just as tired as his rider.
Loke was half asleep when the ground started tilting downwards, and moment later the mud slipped under his hooves, sending him gliding down the hill. Zoey who’s mind had been somewhere completely else was suddenly torn back to reality as she fell backwards, her back hitting the muddy grown and sliding after her horse.
She groaned in frustration when they finally stopped, Loke luckily not hurt as he managed to get back on his feet. Zoey sat up, watching how she was completely covered in mud. “Fuck this…” she mumbled, unsteadily getting up on her feet and over to her horse. Looked like she had her work set out for her when she reached the checkpoint, to clean both horse, tack, clothes and herself.
