I know one person who lives like that. He is so annoying.. You kind of can't do anything with him.
I'm a bit afraid to life because I have a lot of problems etc. but never afraid to die and bit by bit I do try something new.. ^___^

If by live you mean, get drunk as fuck and high as a kite and wake up in the midst of a place that you can scarcely even recognize, probably beaten up and feeling like shit-- then yeah, I'd rather be afraid to live. You don't need to go bungee jumping and drinking to "live" your life. I live my life with consideration, not fear.

I agree. Doing fun things is awesome but this doesn't mean to risk your life. Be dangerous but don't throw all caution to the wind. Just go farther and farther out of your comfort zone but try to come back to it to a point where it's enjoyable for you. This is a deep, powerful quote and I think this is a good philosophy to live by.

When we die, our soul departs, and depending on where we stand with God... heaven or Hell. Basically upon death we exit this existence and enter the next life. Our body here decays (obviously), how do I know this? The Bible tells me so.

Knightster In reply to BlondBeastBoy [2013-04-29 07:34:07 +0000 UTC]

That can be answered in two ways:

Realistically: Yes.

Deep Shit: One could argue that the world we see is the only one we experience and as such, will cease to exist (to us) the moment we die.

BlondBeastBoy In reply to Knightster [2013-04-29 11:04:28 +0000 UTC]

Realistically it's bound to die and fuck off as well, so Deep Shit's the correct answer.

I think its brilliant. The simple-ness of the last sentence, posted broken, gives it a really strong feel and punch. It forces the reader to think apon this. The simple language makes it easy to understand. If it were to rhyme it would seem like a cliche. Great job.

Please-Not-Last [2013-04-29 00:16:15 +0000 UTC]

I think the text could've been arranged differently, but other than that, I like it.

It's a very true quote. Nowadays people seem to be afraid to do anything except work (for fear of losing income) so they never take time to appreciate anything in the outside world - at least where I'm from. So I guess you could call that a fear of living.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoseTheCow13 In reply to Permafry42 [2013-04-28 23:47:30 +0000 UTC]

If you fear fear itself. How can you possibly not fear?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Permafry42 In reply to RoseTheCow13 [2013-04-29 00:44:44 +0000 UTC]

I can't. But then again, why should I not have the ability to fear? Fear gives me motivation and purpose, while a lack of fear leaves me empty of feelings or desires. Fear of death is what makes me desire life. Fear of life makes me desire change within my life (or possibly the desire for death depending on what point in my life I believe myself to be at). Fear of fear leads a desire to escape my current fears, and fear of a lack of fear leads a desire to keep the ability to fear. Without fear, desire and motivation is impossible. Without desire and my fears, my dreams can never become a part of this thing we call reality that we as humans are co-creating together. In our essence, fear is a part of what makes us human.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoseTheCow13 In reply to Permafry42 [2013-04-30 23:25:44 +0000 UTC]

Well, I didn't say fear is a good thing nor a bad thing. Yes, emotions are giving an extra tense to life, but it isn't like that is all we can count on. And yes, fear is a normal feeling, but you can't block fear. there is always a weak point, like when there is a high possibility that you have to start the way to your dream all over or when you are at the point to lose the people who love and care for you, and whom you care for.
Still I do not death it's something I respect and it will come to me when the time is right, but still loss can make me sad And I know that isn't something bad.
I too have a dream and that goal is something I want to have archieved before death. A dream is something strong enough to fight against time and so are the once you love/ care for.

Fear is close to panic. I prefer to stay calm and watch every situation a bit and then decide. The thing that makes me drive isn't fear, maybe it's yours.

Permafry42 In reply to RoseTheCow13 [2013-05-01 04:58:32 +0000 UTC]

Based on your comment, a fear of not being calm still seems to drives you to be calm to some extent.

This isn't typography, it's plain text on plain background.

Plus this is simply a quote.

Why do people always favorite unworthy stuff such as this? It's not even art, and this is an ART site.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Thundermane In reply to octobird [2013-04-28 23:22:00 +0000 UTC]

What is or is not, is subjective, at least by measure. It all started when Marcel Duchamp told the toilet he expo'd was art. And don't kid anyone, there is a lot of trash on this website, and I think this quote at least holds merit. With all due respect, are you in the place to tell what is or isn't art? Take a look at your own gallery. You must be having the greatest sarcasm or delusion... It's not in my nature to diss people, but this is just being blind by lack of experience.

I wrote this long set of points about how I disagreed with your statements and examples, yet concluded that I still supported your attempt to defend the definition of art, so to avoid contradiction, I will simply say this:
I like pie.
