Description
Gift for the super sweet !! * Q *BECAUSE YOU ARE PLAIN WONDERFUL AND YOU DESERVE THIS AND A LOTS AND LOTS MORE!
I'm sorry I can't possibly wait till your birthday to give it to you. ; 7 ; I hope you like it!
It's been a long time since I drew anything this decent without it being committed to an artbook/contest, it was so nice to get back to drawing with this piece, I had so much fun with Gooseberry characters! I'm very satisfied with the final result, better keep it up. XD May the day I decide to not illustrate lazy leaves be forever blessed.
Done with Photoshop CC 2014.

That's all right. I don't have a habit of counting hours either, so I understand.

This is a really cool setting, it reminds me of being outside playing on hot summer days, climbing and falling out of trees

This is so lovely! I'm slowly falling in love with tree shadows these days, ever since I saw that clever-looking umbrella media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736…
And holy cow there's so much I need to learn about Photoshop! DX I keep looking at this and your wip image and I feel like that baby that's seeing her father's twin brother for the first time- I'm so baffled! Is a lot of this work done with special effects?

Thank you! Ah, that is a pretty neat umbrella.
I use a lot of brushes, and I alternate the colors in the end.

Wow! All the details with the leaves and everything and so many characters! And that perspective! How do you do it?

Joyfool In reply to Phoenix1027 [2014-07-20 17:43:47 +0000 UTC]
Thank you! ^^
To simply the effect of the perspective relies on the sizes of the characters (and the gooseberries?). You know that the ladybug girl is nearest because I drew her big, meanwhile the farthest characters are tiny, there are many obstacles before you reach them (leaves, branches, and even another character that is bigger than them). The sizes of the gooseberries as well, the nearest are huge and the farthest are just dots. Also, if the characters are really far their colors alter to the colors of the environment, they are bluer than they really are and you can also see this same effect on the leaves, the farthest leaves are completely blue while the nearest are green.
Hope that helped, I'm sorry I'm horrible explaining. ;______;

You're welcome. And it's not only the size and coloring though, it's also figuring out all the angles and just everything.
