BIG FILE IS BIG HOLYFFFFF*shot*Wow. I finally finished it. XD This was a sketchbunny that I made a couple of weeks ago and got pretty far on, but the coloring started to get really strange and experimental so I've been slowly working on it bit by bit until I just said 'URGH whatever post it.' XD
OMG, it HAS A BACKGROUND. ITS THE END OF THE WORLD I DREW A BACKGROUND. Wooooo~
BTW, see if you can tell what the whole scene is. ;3 I had little stuff in there that are hard to notice but I think it makes it cuter....

You wanna one-shot?! You're gonna have it!!
After another long, hard day of training the Berk kids, Hiccup headed straight home without stopping by the Great Hall for a quick bite to eat and a little, leisurely chat with the rest of the teenagers; this wasn't his custom.
His limbs ached with fatigue from all the grueling work he'd labored through the day, not to mention the pounding headache that latched onto his brain from some rather annoying kids that kept nagging him with questions:"Do I have the saddle on correctly? Do I have to be gentle? Why do they pass out when I scratch them under their chins?", and so on and so forth. It was just too much for him to handle.
But the upside to today was he was able to get away for a little "break", and flew around on Toothless a few times to relieve some of the stress. Some, not all. Hiccup hung out with Astrid for an hour or so, but for some reason, he couldn't trust his tongue to say something to her that wasn't stupid; he usually could talk fluently with her, but today, not so much.
With so many thoughts running through his mind at once, he didn't remember opening the door to his house, and trumping up the stairs to his room until he sat at his desk. He was exhausted, but, on impulse, Hiccup pulled out a large sheet of parchment, picked up his charcoal pencil, and started drawing. Being as tired as was, he at first didn't realize what he was drawing until he was done with it. Sitting back in his chair, he looked it over; he'd drawn Astrid's face, and a very good job at that. She'd been on his mind all day, more than what was usual for him; there was just something inside him that had begun to stir, a feeling he'd felt about her ever since they were kids.
He was madly in love with her.
That was why he had trouble talking to her today; Hiccup knew how much he loved Astrid, but he just couldn't bring himself to say it out loud, and he felt like a coward.
"Damn," he mentally slapped himself. "What's WRONG with me?! I should've said something!!" But his thoughts grew hazy, and yawning, he lay his head down on his desk, pencil still in hand, and dreamt of holding Astrid in his arms... that she was his forever.
All the while, Toothless sat on his bed watching his rider, wearily. He knew the boy was tired, but the energy that emanated from him was rather unusual to the Night Fury; he could sense several mixed emotions, but they were all jumbled up, and at first he couldn't quite figure out what Hiccup was thinking. When Hiccup fell asleep, Toothless got up quietly from his position, pulled the red blanket off the boy's bed, and draped it over Hiccup's shoulders. And in that instant, the dragon peered over his friend's shoulder, and saw the drawing of Astrid.
So THAT was what he was picking up from him! The poor lad, Toothless supposed, was lovesick for her.
"Hmmm," the dragon mused to himself. "I wonder if there's something I could do to help him?" Toothless watched his rider for a few minutes, listened to the slow, even rhythm of his breathing, before the Night Fury snuffed out the candle on Hiccup's bedside, lumbered back to his bed, and curled up, closing his eyes and falling asleep with an idea in the back of his mind for tomorrow's events.
