Description Thank you everyone for the DD!

Gazelf. Hybrid of a gazelle and an elf. Clay maquette sculpture, about 16" high.

Her story is that she is in the forest with a larger creature. They are a pair, a team, tracking someone or something. I wasn't sure, but he would have been anthropomorphic as well. He is not all he seems, however, and as she's bending down to either drink from a pool, or check tracking marks for their quarry they are following, he is pulling out his weapon to make a quick end to her life, as he has turned or become corrupt, and planned this sinister act from the beginning of the trap. She is just now sensing the danger from her companion and is rising to react.

Wow that's beautiful! I would watch/read the story that she would feature in. I hope that she survives this imminent attack!

man this is really great! I love the back story as well. Very deserving of a DD! I would like to see this in white with black eyes, I think that would have a great impact! LOL Just my two cents worth.

Really beautiful.

What do you mean, exactly, by "maquette sculpture" though? I read it around somewhere, but I still don't understand the difference from just a sculpture. ^^'

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoynerStudio In reply to MajorasMasks [2012-04-03 14:48:58 +0000 UTC]

A sculpture is just that, a 3 dimensional physical sculpture. It could be of anything, really. A maquette sculpture is something that could be something else, and generally means a smaller version of the final. I was planning on making this into a makeup later, but just not sure, so it's a small sculptural design of the final.

MajorasMasks In reply to JoynerStudio [2012-04-03 14:52:41 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for the information.

So, a maquette sculpture could be called a "prototype" of a sculpture or other, too?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoynerStudio In reply to MajorasMasks [2012-04-03 15:36:59 +0000 UTC]

A prototype is generally one to one. A maquette is usually smaller than the final.

MajorasMasks In reply to JoynerStudio [2012-04-03 19:13:02 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I understand. Must it be in scale, too, or is that optional? Sorry for all the questions, by the way... ^^'

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

JoynerStudio In reply to MajorasMasks [2012-04-03 19:32:51 +0000 UTC]

No problem. It can be the same scale if its rough, perhaps, but usually it's half scale or less.
