Description
The Key of Cthulhu.Sealed in a sunken crumbling temple in a primordial jungle bordering two warring, desperate lands, the Key of Cthulhu has been discovered and brought to the light of day. It's worn marble skin is slick and weathered by the countless years of futile caressing by blind and feeble-minded worshipers. The dark alien stone of its pedestal bears the wear of millennia of dripping onyxian stalactites and the crawling of obscene, alien insects.
A lone surviving member of Joyner Studio's first expedition was found clutching this very same idol in his pale bloodless hands, blind and gibbering in an exotic dead language, "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn".
A new expedition has been commissioned by Joyner Studio to retrace the old teams fateful route into the primitive jungle and recover the remaining idols.

This is a very detailed, elaborate sculpture. Its a pretty sizable bust, too. Joyner captures the appearance of marble using variations of color, like yellowing, and shade, but more notable is his use of texture. The scuplture looks worn and smoothed on the ridges - it has the grain of stone. More than a scuplt depicting Cthulhu, the Key is a replication of stone carving. If you get a chance to see it in person, wow. I see he's going to blog about his latest, HPL...

Thank you! We took a looong time for the mold, just to get it right so I didn't have to cut the tentacles on the final cast. It was a 4 piece case with a fifth removable plus for the hand rotocasting. Very time consuming process, but it was worth it in the end. Thank you for appreciating that part!
