that he is it's just a shame that he got soft and focused more on his education than his strength training.Β

Yeah, its very hard to try and make a DBZ character look semi realistic, and I'm not to great at makeing faces to begin with ahha

Wouldn't be JPlatt without the landscapes now would it?
In all seriousness, you should consider drawing more characters, or rather people. You capture their movement very well, and they look so full of life when you draw them.

I know you will keep truckin' with your beautiful illustration, and since you use paper and charcoal I will repeat to you what I said to another contact on this site. You don't need highfalutin expensive tools to make glorious work, some of the most basic instruments of the artisan are able to convey the image best.

yes i agree...i couldn't afford Photoshop for a long time so i use to do all in paper and markers and a little painting...i recommend Photoshop to someone though because you don't have to buy paint and canvas that gets expensive and if you want a job in the future it helps to have Photoshop experience because that is what most place use these days

Exactly how I see it. Though to be honest, I was never that great at hand drawing so everything I do is through Microsoft Paint and Photoshop now and I draw with pixels and line tools. Can't quite say why, but I have greater control with a mouse than I do my own hand with a pencil!
So do you use PS for touch ups and what not?

I understand i dont think i could ever paint traditionally after using photshop i use photoshop for everything i tried a few programs but i know all the key board short cuts and just use photoshop for two long to switch to something else..and photoshop if very good about not crashing on me which is a huge plus even though im use to saving every 10 minuets ....but using the pen tool i would use illustrator not photoshop lolΒ
www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6tmUJ⦠this is a great video if you can get a tablet for your digital painting programs and will help you not need the line tool after a while i always got too frustrated with it and it feels so much faster when you can just draw it with your hand

That's a very useful video, I actually saw that once and have done some of those techniques and they do help. Thanks.
But I hear you on reliability. Photoshop is the most stable platform to illustrate with, or anything Adobe that is. I used to use Krita.

Krita and Paint.Net are my two favorite alternatives to Photoshop, and they are free of cost as well. Oh well, I guess Photoshop is like High Def television. Once you go there, you never go back.
