I'll never know why the TV series made so many stupid inconveniences during it's run but you made my day with something like this true to the RWS.

I love this. The tree closest in sight, the shrubs and the sparks coming out of James' brake blocks look great.Β

you're great at re-capturing the TV landscapes in your drawings. and i like how you made James black they way he was supposed to be

Thank you. Generally, I follow RWS events, but like to depict them as a combination of the books and the show.

i think they tried that with The adventure begins, from my perception it gives me mixed reviews.

Yeah, same here. But for future drawings, I'm gonna correct all the flaws the tv series had by depicting Donald and Douglas painted blue, Toby with blue side plates, all the Skarloey Railway engines red, Knapford Station as Tidmouth and Elsbridge as Knapford all how they were supposed to be.

Actually, I don't mind so much that the engines weren't their proper colors at a certain time, it's really the mixed up station names or Stations that didn't even exist at all like Lower Tidmouth, Tidmouth Halt, Lower Suddery, etc. that bugged me and how they kept changing set designs, like in the episode, Special Attraction, Knapford Harbor is way bigger than how it was in season 2.Β  Also what really irritated me was how Rusty and Stepney debuted in the series, I mean, Rusty saving Stepney from scrap and bringing him to his home on the Bluebell Railway?Β  And what were Thomas, Douglas, some of the other engines on Sodor doing there at the time?

Yknow, when you tell it like that it makes sense. And some sets and scenery were never mentioned or used again after the first 2 seasons

Such a waste really as they had some cracking sets too.

I generally cannot understand why people who do tv shows or films of books make so much of a mess of them!!

Agreed! They have these people called "editors" they're supposed to make minor changes to the film to cut it to length. I think they hack at these film adaptations mercilessly.

Sometimes the directors are to blame too. They want to make a mark, a stamp, which is fine but stick to the bloody book guys!

Exactly, if I was to ever to be a director. I would do a faithful adaption...And do it right.

Several of my favourite books have been done pretty badly over the years and not just RWS ones and I would love to see a remake done of 633 Squadron film. Awesome book. Shame the film was a let down for me.
