Taken in America during the ‘fall’, this image was inspired by various nature and macro images I have seen around sites such as deviantART. I realise that as a subject it isn’t spectacular but I feel that the image as a whole is eye-catching and bold – the rich colour scheme of reds, oranges and yellows perfectly captures autumn, the crisp edges of the leaf also add crunchy connotations. But it’s the depth of field that really makes this image for me, with a dramatic contrast between the foreground and background.
