After a certain hour, the shadows enveloped the room. Jack frantically reached for the TV to turn it off, but his own fear screamed at him to hide. He listened to his gut and started creeping away. When he was almost to the end of the room, a growl cut him off. He yelped, and dove behind the only thing he had close enough to protect himself. The sofa. He’d be caught in ten seconds flat, and he’d be gone. Just ten seconds. Ten, nine, eight…the thing seemed to be crawling away, and it sounded absolutely gigantic. All Jack could do was stay silent, and wait.
