Description
This is a piece by Jonboy Meyer. He is an awesome artist and he was kind enough to lend me a scan of his pencils so that I could practice inking. I hope I didn't butcher his work too much. I think I still have a ways to go, but I think it's a nice start. Crits would definitely be appreciated.This was inked in 4 hours.

i think you could add a little texture to the face and body. these areas are well drawn but it seems like all you really did here was trace. sorry to say it but in comparison to all the other textures and patterns that you have going on the face and body seem unfinished

I'm sure it's something that will come along as I become more confident with inking. It was my first real attempt at inking, so I definitely have a ways to go, but thank you for the crits and I will keep it in mind for future pieces.

I don't agree that you have butchered anything here. The lines are crisp and clear. The hair is nicely detailed and the overall image is strong. Perhaps the only flaw here is the fabric seems striped, the texture does not have enough variety, and does not represent the light falling on it convincingly. However, if the material is supposed to be striped then I retract what I just said. A great piece of inking.

I believe the material is supposed to be striped. Again, I was only taking someone's pencils and inking them. As for variety in the texture, I will probably start doing stuff like that as I get more comfortable with inking and learn new ways to use materials. Thanks for the comments and the supportive statements, I appreciate it.

The reference to the stripes on the material was a minor crit, and it doesn't distract from the strength of the overall image, but since the material is striped anyway, then my comment about it is unfounded and redundant. I apologise. It's still a great image.
