A drawing I did for a friend. It was her 18th debut birthday and for her candles, we were given a question to answer."If I ask you to draw an image of me, what would it be and why?"
I would draw you a rose. Not for the fact that you've given me a hint of what to draw a few days back or that your middle name is Rose...but that during the time that I've known you, I saw that you carry many different qualities that a rose symbolizes. In a red rose, you carry beauty and courage. In white you are innocent and pure. In pink you are sweet and graceful. And in yellow, you are friendly and cheerful. Now I know there are many other colors I have not mentioned, but all you really need to know is that you are a friend many are blessed to have. And I just want to wish you a very happy birthday and that may God bring you more blessings as he had made you a blessing to us. Happy 18th birthday Rina
P.S: In Filipino tradition, once a young woman has turned 18, it is thought of as a coming of age. So we celebrate this occasion like any coming of age out there- by throwing a big party! :]

beautifully done ^^ and I loved the story behind it
(also, may I ask a question? Did you do this with graphite pencils on a white background, or with white charcoal pencils on a black background? Or was it something else entirely..?)
