I like the iconic first Elvis Presley cover, The Beatles "Revolver", The Mothers Of Invention "We're Only In It For The Money", "The Velvet Underground And Nico" (by Andy Warhol), The Stooges "Raw Power"(photo by Mick Rock), Lou Reed "Transformer"(Mick Rock again), The Rolling Stones "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out", The Who "Sell Out", Alice Cooper "Love It To Death", David Bowie "Hunky Dory", Sex Pistols "The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle", Tom Waits "Rain Dogs", Dead Kennedys "Fresh Fruits For Rotting Vegetables", The Smashing Pumpkins "Mellon Collie", Soundgarden "Superunknown", The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion "Plastic Fang" and The Clash "London Calling",a tribute to the Elvis cover.

Yes, "Revolver" is a fine artwork! "We're Only In It.." is a funny copy! There are so many great covers, like "Thick As A Brick" (Jethro Tull), "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake" (Small Faces). I also loved the art of Roger Dean, who made the covers for YES.

The Britsh art designers of Hipgnosis did a lot of great covers, especially for Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
I also like the cover of Jethro Tull's Stand Up (it seems to be a wood engraving) and the triple cover for The Who's Tommy.

Yes, Hipgnosis did a lot of great covers, also for Bad Company, Yes or Wishbone Ash.
I think, "Stand Up" was a wood graving.
Much better than "Tommy" is the cover artwork for The Who's "Face Dances"!
I think we could talk many hours or days about that theme...!

The guitarist Mick Ralphs (Bad Company) was the founder of one of my favorite bands, Mott The Hoople. Their best records are All The Young Dudes and Mott. I like the cover of The Hoople (a picture of Linda Keith?).
H.R.Giger (Alien movie designer) did a beautiful image for Emerson Lake & Palmer. John Entwistle did artwork for The Who By Numbers (as a cover designer he was a great bass player...).
The format of the LP is a better frame than the smaller CD one!

Ah, Mott The Hoople! I like the first cover, by M.C. Escher!
You're right, "The Who By Numbers" is funny. The covers, done by the musicians, are a very special chapter. Like Cat Stevens, Kevin Coyne, Joni Mitchell (!)...

I like Cat Stevens' Mona Bone Jakon (crying trash can on the cover). Beautiful songs like Trouble, Fill My Eyes and Lilywhite. Some of these are on the soundtrack for Harold and Maude, directed by Hal Ashby.
Last year I read an interesting book, Easy Riders, Raging Bulls by Peter Biskind, about the film industry in the USA during the late 60's and early 80's. Great movies.
I've been reading Keith Richards' biography, Life. Man, he remembers everything!!!

I liked the book, in special the parts about the making of Beggars Banquet and Exile On Main Street. And finally Ladies And Gentlemen The Rolling Stones received a proper release, it's their best tour!
Other great book is Please Kill Me, with stories about The Stooges, Velvet Underground, MC5, New York Dolls...

Yeah, you are right, he's great! But my favorite drummer
in terms of technique is Gavin Harrison from Porcupine Tree! Ah, it would be probably cool to see a caricature of them!
