Porgs: Cute and comical, and provide the best laugh in The Last Jedi.
Jar Jar: Can't stand to see him and speak for a millisecond, and Emperor Palpatine could have ordered the extermination of the Gungans to standing ovation across the galaxy.

Same here. I wasn't too fond of 7 and 8, but the Porgs in 8 were a genuinely huge laugh riot. I can't stand Jar Jar and the Gungans in 1. However, if you watch Star Wars in Machete Order (4,5,2,3,6), Jar Jar becomes annoying in a powerfully constructive way. He says very little in 2, but it is extremely important to story arc, and your hatred for him gets vindicated by the end of 2.

What can say? The shear magnitude of the hatred for Jar Jar Binks is astounding to me. There were sites that sprang up shortly after the movie came out in 1999 that called for the extermination of him; many of which are still up to this day, and there was even a rap song by the group Damn Nation called "Jar Jar Binks Must Die!"

Jar Jar's issue was how much of the movie he took up and his cringy personality. Ewoks were a third act introduction to appeal to kids, and let's not kid ourselves on that, they spawned two spin-off made for tv movies and a cartoon series because they appealed so well to kids.
Porgs are tiny cute background fuzzballs, less of characters than Ewoks, closer to the anime pet mascot than anything else. Like Nausicca's squirrel fox.

The main reason why Jar Jar is so hated isn't so much to his screen time as much as the way he spoke. Jar Jar spoke in a high pitched voice with broken grammar, and that combined with the Gungan character design reminded viewers of drugged out Jamaicans. I guarantee that if Jar Jar spoke in normal pitch with proper grammar, he would be nowhere near as hated as he is now, and the Gungan character design would probably have been seen in a better light.
