Am I just MAD, or did Soundwave's voice in Revenge of the Fallen sound a lot like another cartoon villian?Monsters from: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)

If you pay close attention to the G1 series, there are at least 3 points in the series where the vocoder processing was left off of Soundwave's voice and you hear Frank Welker's voice raw and un-altered, and yes, he did the voice for Dr Claw from Inspector Gadget as well as a few other characters on the show, and 8 different Transformers characters, including Megatron, Soundwave and most of his cassettes, Mirage, and others. look him up on IMDB.com and you'll see over 600 listings of things he's done! O.O HOLY CRAP he's a busy man! **laughs**

Dr. Claw...just like him. I wish Megatron sounded like Dr. Claw but no. They get the original voice for Prime for the movies but god forbid they get someone who sounds like Dr. Claw to play Megatron.
Voice of Claw was also the voice of Megatron in the original cartoon, just saying.

They are the same voice, done by the same guy. The only difference is that Soundwave's voice is supposed to be digitized with a vocoder.

Yep, quite aware of that. It just took me by surprise to hear him as straight up Dr. Claw voice instead of vocodered Soundwave, and made me think of how they both have cat sidekicks. Eerily similar characters, when given that Dr. Claw's car also transformed...

Frank Welker always did the Dr Claw voice when playing soundwave. The sound designers would then put his voice though a vocoder to create the synthesized noise
