Super cool! I love the shape and those shiny chips in them. One of your best designs. They're so pretty.

These are beautiful! I love the faux prongs on the bezels! Really gives the pieces a realistic feel. What brand of translucent clay do you use?

Thanks! I like Translucent Cernit. It seems a bit more translucent and doesn't plaque as much as Fimo (which is my second choice). It also has a nice texture because it's not as prone to crumbling .

I am definitely going to have to get my hands on Cernit...Ebay here I come. Pardo translucent by Diva Décor seems to be the translucent clay of choice for the polymer community, but it is always so hard, at least, what I have been able to purchase here in the states is. I try adding some oil, a little at a time, to help soften it so that when I do go and use it isn't like I working with a hard cheese! lol I have yet to try the Fimo translucent either. When I'm not fighting with the Pardo I use Premo. At the moment I am working on getting a supply of Sonnet. Have you seen it? I finally found a supplier in Utah and just got a catalog, but of course, no pricing. So, now off to get a pricing list so I know if it's even viable! lol

Ugh I hate hard clays especially for the thin layers you need for opal effects! I haven't actually heard of Sonnet but we're really slow in getting things in Australia. I can't even get the "newer" Fimo gemstone colours in my town so I get them shipped from the other side of the country! Good luck with your suppliers, I know it can be a bit of a pain finding what you need sometimes .

That stinks!! I haven't used the new fimos...but that's because the clay is too soft for my taste. I like something that doesn't start premelted! lol It took me months of looking before I finally tracked down Sonnet. It's a Russian based company with wholesalers sprinkled throughout the world. I first saw it in a YouTube tutorial and have been looking ever since. I want to try all different types of polymer clay because eventually I plan on doing a comparison video for my YouTube channel. Who knows....maybe they will sponsor me!! lol Not a bad idea for you.....see if you can help another company get a foothold in your area by using their stuff and seeing if they will sponsor you!

Funnily enough my Fimos are usually a bit hard... I have a feeling they've been on the shelf for months before it reaches me. I have issues with Sculpey 3 because it feels like a kneadable art eraser.
Sometimes I wonder if it would just be easier to move to Europe since that's where all my clay comes from . A sponsorship would be a dream come true! All the best for your YouTube channel!

LOL....Ya....we are never in the right place at the right time, although quite honestly, I can't complain too much! I have access to more than most I think...just not necessarily all the things I want access to! lol
That was the problem I ran into with Pardo translucent. It was rock hard...would crumble and crumble and crumble before I could finally get it to stick to itself. I started not wanting to work with translucent. Now, I just go for my premo translucent instead of the pardo. Maybe I need a NeverKnead! lol I'll try and explain that purchase to my husband....I need a $150 tool to knead my crumbly clay, otherwise my $15 purchase will go to waste! lol I know that Fimo has a line that is just soft clays...and I haven't been able to locate just regular fimo. Maybe I need to look around some more. I just put a bid in on ebay for some liquid fimo so I am excited to try that.
Thanks for the best wishes about the channel. I really need to get on that. It's been over a year since I decided I wanted to do it, but I want it to look polished and professional, so I have slowly been trying to get things together to make that happen. Currently I am in the process of getting a small studio set up in my office/study, but running into electrical issues. The outlet I want to use won't work, so before I can finish the space I have to be an electrician first. I hate old homes! lol
