This is categorized as 'tutorial', but it is sorta more a low-res superb artwork with a detail-shot at two sketches...
I was like "Uhmm, did he ever make a tutorial? Let's see, *gallery* --> *browse* --> *Resources & Stock Images* --> *Tutorials: All* ... oh yeah, he made one. *click* ... ohwww, a pity, he did not."
Is there somewhere a full tutorial by you available on the internet, if I may ask? Otherwise I am a little angry about not having been part of this class you mentioned to see, what this tutorial was like. :]

I have a silly question...
Nobody mentions the size and dpi of the painting in their tutorials...
What's the size and dpi of the image, and what size is the final image?
I suppose that you scale down the image before you save it as a jpg...

I always start my work at 300dpi. that way I can scale it up or down and not lose any detail.
