Description
My first attempt at macro photography taken for a photography class.Critisism welcomed, tell me how I suck before my teacher does.
Photoshop: Very Minor Color balance change.

As others have said, I love how the ring is off center. At that angle the piece has much more depth than if it were dead center. I also love how sharp the stars are, great focus there.
Once again, I agree that since both the ring and the signature are to the right side that the focus is heavily weighted to that side making the composisition feel as if it's going to topple over. Even signature placement can make a world of difference. Regardless this is still a great piece.
I want that ring.

oh boy.. advanced critique.. ok i'll try my best... hmmm...
well, first of all, i love it. the ring itself is beautiful and the i'm a sucker or silver as it is.. but not just that but because its a simple piece of jewellery that can have multiple symbols - marriage, friendship, promise.. that's all i can think of right now. so for subject matter i give you an A.
technique: fantastic. you kept the focus on the section thats closer to you which is a great start to macro photography. don't want to be taking a close up shot when its not the nearest thing. The stars on the ring stood out to me especially; crisp focus which i love. i can tell that with a bit more experimenting, macro photography will be your strong point. for technique, i give you a B.
composition: this is what makes your piece amazing - it doesn't have the subject matter smack bang in the middle, which many would do. off-center is so much more fun, and makes it more interesting. my one crit about this is that maybe you could flip it and put the ring on the left instead of the right. i'm given this sense that you're looking into the past, instead of the future when its on the right. i don't know if that's what you were going for, but that's the impression that its given me.. overall, i give you an B.
so in average, you get a B from me. keep going in photography, your progress will be something to see.

interesting. nice, cimple macro... almost too simple. it's simplicity makes it so that any little thing added could set it off balance. with the name in the bottom right corner, the focus of the image seems to be to the extreme right
