I dont either but I still refrain from being rude
about the artists work. creepy as spiders may be I
find this picture interesting.
The tip of the head showing an emotion most of us
may not think a spider can do, creepy as they are
Spiders I find DO have a sense of beauty to them
few creatures can be as deadly yet beautiful at the
same time.

I love this! It's so cute and characterful. It's probably really easy to make a photo on this kind of backdrop seem clinical, but this feels very natural and alive.

(following text source : [link] )
BINOCULAR VISION : The most distinctive feature of these spiders is their two very large eyes, which is typical for jumping spiders. Although they have eight eyes, the two at the front are the largest and give them excellent binocular vision that they use to locate and stalk their prey.
DEADLY HUNTERS : They have been observed taking on prey items up to 3 times the length of the spider. It uses its large eyes to locate prey and its jumping ability to pounce and capture it. They move slowly towards their prey until they are close enough to pounce on top of their victim, and their hunting behaviour has been described as cat-like. Using their acute eyesight, they are able to accurately judge the distances they need to jump.
JUMPING VELOCITY : The mean jumping velocity is estimated to be around 0.7 m/s (2.4 ft/s)[>2.500 km/h (>1.500 mph)]
AWARENESS : Zebra spiders are often noted for their awareness of humans. Upon noticing someone observing them, they can be seen raising their head, and usually change behavior (hence with salticus scenius, a theathral jump).

It seems all of these Salticidae (Jumping spiders) are calm and curious like this. I found one and it was just as playful with my flash and camera.. strange.
ANYWAY
Awesome photo, love it :]

Wow... How did you manage to take this picture? It's very good Animals, especially ones like arthropods and insects don't tend to stay still... May I ask what was it doing in there, I mean other than pondering if it was serious about the model contract?

Hello Sorry about the very late answer. It was running around on a white painted wooden plank. I tapped my finger next to it on the plank, which made it turn around and cock it's head every time i did that.

Hello, not at all about late answer Ha ha, hilarious animal, and quite brave too, usually spiders run away ...I suppose it depends of the specie too
