Description
Animating is fun, but for just 24 frames, this was h*ll to do for me. The cutie mark posed a challenge, but I'm keeping the result of it as it is. I used distortion to keep it moving along with her hindleg. The tail dips with the angle of the pony's rear end then 'jumps' right back up. I know that's a bit hard to miss, but bear with me.It's just too bad I don't know how to apply 'bounce' to the mane and the tail.
Feedback please. I could use advice from the more experienced animators.
Completion time: 6 hours
Mane, tail, hat and cutie mark (recolored) are courtesy of 's Fabulous Pony Maker™.

Very nicely made. I'm glad I could help you!^^
The 'bounce' is normally completely animated, but you can take the easy road and just use distortion, like you did with the cutie mark.
Feedback:
The disortation of the cutiemark is a little bit to pronounced, keep it simple
Look up animations with other angles and/or real horses to make the placing of additions like tail for each frame easier.
Hint:
You can add this animation as a sprite in Game Maker Studio to make her walk, if you'd like to experiment.

Thanks for dropping me feedback, IntetX! And your advice was pre-taken. (as in I magically foresaw all this somehow, haha)
I actually did give the animation another go and, this time, used distortion to make at least the tail bounce with the walking motion while making her tail look less like it's moving all over the place. I even made it so that the cutie mark rotated with the hindleg's angle then used distort to realign its position on her flank. It came out wonky on the 13th frame still, but it was definitely an improvement from this one. While the second attempt wasn't used to update the animation, I decided to make it a sprite and add it to my profile.

I know XD Done those as well. Cutie Mark is hardest part to do. Animating hair is easier than CM

I could probably make that mane 'bounce' by cropping the length of it after an alternate step, and skew the tail after the 10th frame to make it look more swept along. But I so don't want to do it right now.

I defaulted to Photoshop when I was positioning the frames, then worked on GIMP after that

That looks great.
I was thinking about using Flash myself, but I've never tried it because I heard it was very difficult to work with.

Just the start. But later using it beats GIMP in so many ways. Flash only problem is that its paid program thou. But still I reccomend it as one of the best programs to animate
