Description
So, the Jude fulfilled herself a wish. The Jude spent way too much money on a new medium....
She soooo doesn't regret it XD
Okay, to make a long story short, I went to the art supplies store the other day and finally, after ages of contemplating, treated myself to a nice set of Copic Markers. Expensive little buggars that they are.
And since I was already busy fiddling with the WC! Creature Feature for this month, I figured it would be the perfect thing to practise my new medium on.
I gotta say, I love them. And I can by now totally understand hw people can be so enthusiastic about those little things. I doubt they are going to be able to replace my beloved pencils, but damn they are fun to work with. And I'm really pleased with the results of my first serious attempt at them.
So here goes, Copic Markers on bleedproof paper.

I love your style! It's very soft, and very clear.
The markers were well worth it! What type of paper are you using?

Aw, thanks.
The papaer I used on this particular piece is actually Copic Marker Paper. It's extremely thin and pretty much see-through, yet still remains bleedproof - which totally amazes me every time I use it oO

Wow, that's beautiful; you've made the feathers look all flow-y and the detail you spent on the wings is simply gorgeous.
Lovely artwork.

:'( WAH!
I want copic markers to fiddle with... I have prisma markers.. does that count? ... I'm still trying to work with the prismas because I would like to switch off of digital and go back to traditional, and add more color. I have found out how hard it can be sometimes coloring with those little buggers. Its a downright mess.

But it's an inspirational mess, isn't it? I don't have any experiences with Prismacolor markers, only with their pencils. But I suppose tehy count Whywouldn't they? XD

I love prisma pencils. I wish I had more inspiration to work with them. And no.. there is no inspirational mess.. >< not when I can't come up with anything to draw to color.. and what makes me upset is I have my sketch book that I don't rip picture out of, and I don't have a flat bed scanner, so anytime I draw something I want to color, I don't want to mess it up while coloring it, and I can't make copies........ T.T

Well if that is the entire problem, I think there's a solution to it. I, too, have sketches I don't want to rip out of the sketchbook. If that happens I simply slip a piece of the paper that I want to color the drawing on into the book underneath teh picture I want to do, then put a piece of transfer paper in between both sheets and simply go ahead transfering it by retracing the image.

O_O A truly beautiful and majestic creature! The eyes are the best, I think, followed closely by the feathers, because they're so... voluminous and tranquil....

Aw, thank you. Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the feathers in particular and the overall outcome in general. I wouldn't have expected those markers to be THAT cooperative.

Very stunning job! I love Phoenixes & Firebirds. Prismacolor markers work best for me with/or without colored pencils. Keep it up hon!
