Oots are small curious creatures. At birth, they fit smugly into one hand. Eventually, they grow to be no more than knee height, however there are exceptions for some Oot types. Their 6 legs enable to run quite fast, but it also makes them more clumsy. They are very loyal creatures. When they find their true owner and companion, they are bonded for life. Their antennas are highly sensitive. It can be used to communicate with other Oots. Oots are intelligent. Although they cannot speak, it takes them one year after birth to understand most of the language that the owner is fluent in. Some Oots are born with a tuft of neck mane or paw fur. There are also Oots who are born of nature, which are rarer and one of a kind. These Oots typically have some ability that normal Oots do not possess.

Thistle worries about everything, just so Twinkle doesn't have to. Bubbly, bouncy, and always ready for the next adventure, that's pretty much Twinkle. Her owner is always amused by the mischief Twinkle manages to get herself into. Her favorite thing is to tangle herself (or many times her mate) up in Christmas light. Another thing she's famous for is getting Thistle wrapped up in garland and then covering him in kisses and tickling him, while he makes all sorts of protesting noises. But, she just can't help it.

Pine Tree Oot has bristly pine leaves growing from its ear tips, legs and tail. Not surprisingly, Christmas is Pine Tree Oot's favourite holiday season. It enjoys decorating its mini pine trees with Christmas lights. This Oot enjoys listening to Christmas carols all year round. It also likes to hide around the Christmas tree and pretends to be camouflaged next to it.
