This is a vortex marble. the reason it is called a vortex marble is because of the shiny stuf inside it. that is what is known as Dicroric glass. It was originally develpoed by NASA for the space sheilds on space shuttles. whenver you see a picture where the windows have that golden sheen...that is what the stuff inside this marble making the vortex is.Related content

Dont take this the wrong way but the way you photograph the marble makes it kind of hard to see. I would try photographing it on a flat surface. Just some advice from one lampworker to the next. Keep up the good work. Douglas Weber

oh, yeah. i know. its a really crappy photo. you know what i did? i scanned it. lmao. the reason is: i do not own a camera. and it would get too expensive to use disposables but even then-crappy photo. soon as i get a camera or access to one i am already planning to update that photo.

that is really cool.
i must say that i havent seen any glass works on this site yet (mostly becuase i havent been looking), but its good to come across a glass worker (especially this kind of stuff.)
