Thanks man.
The red-parts in this were actually the starting point, because I wanted to see, how I could potray three reds in one image, with the hair, the outfit and the plush-toy. Each has their own unique red-tone.

I'd say you're off to a great start on your colours. You already have the ability to draw beautiful pictures, and you also can give them colour to compliment the linework. The balancing act can be difficult, if you want to be good at both (drawing & colouring), as with me, when I drew pictures for a long time, but pulled everything to a pretty much standstill back in 2003 when I started learning how to colour. Then by end of 2005 I got some hang of how to colour, but now my lineart needs improving again, cause I ignored it for a long time in favour of colours.

So keep on practising those colours if you really want to learn them better than where you are now, but don't lose focus on drawing every now and then.
