i remember i started watching this show because of a deal with a friend. i don't really remember, but i started watching it and didn't stop. and it's been with me ever since.

my brother and i were already pretty close but this show has brought us closer. my brother and i are essentially dipper and mabel pines. the show kept us guessing, introduced characters that we loved, and we watched it together. we used to fight over who got to watch what at the shore, and this past summer we were racing home to nab the TV before our parents did so we could watch it together.

it seems silly to get emotional over a show, but honestly, i've never had an experience like this one with a cartoon, and that's saying a LOT. the intricate details, the hints, the twists, the characters, the HEART. i've met so many people through this amazing series. i'm so happy to call them my friends.

while it's weird not having something to look forward to, i'm glad it's ending on a finite note. i'm glad it won't be needlessly dragged out. summer is fleeting, and it ends, and by the end, we've grown. dipper and mabel have grown into some of the most lovable characters i've ever known. i'll miss them so much.
