Description
I created this piece because I wanted to capture those brief seconds between being asleep and being fully awake, the mingling of consciousness and dreams, and the precarious nature of the memory of a dream.Felt pen on clay board, 24"x24"

This is really awesome! I like the abstract nature of this piece and the colours that you've used as well. It's quite interesting how there is more room to breathe at the top before it gets too much at the bottom.. and yet there is still something that is alluring, further supported by the swirls and so on.
It's a lovely piece. I like how it is a square too.

Thanks, 3wly! Β Yes, the dream part at the bottom is very dark and crowded. Β I'm usually glad to be waking up from my dreams, which is a good thing. Β Better than the other way around. Β

Yes, I do get what you mean there! It is a resurfacing to consciousness, which you have depicted well here.

Really like this - Many artists and scientists have found they make their most creative connections and ideas during the period between sleeping and waking. The only problem I find is that the connections are so hard to consciously hold on to - very elusive! It's a lovely floaty, dreamy place though it's hard to pin things down
